The Lowdown On The Download

Before you ask, no, I have absolutely no clue how I come up with these jokes. The process literally goes like this:
Hmm…Ratchet…what would be funny about him…oh, okay.
And an idea is farted into existence. I really don’t question what part of my brain is responsible for my humor, but we can assume I’ll pay for it when its use is linked with Alzheimer’s. So enjoy these before I…uh…wait, where am I?! What day is it?! Is this milk expired?! When did I grow a beard?! Holy crap I’m a MAN?!

Mixmaster: For those who don’t know, oil goggles…er, beer goggles is a term that means the more you drink, the better looking certain people seem to get.

Yes, the Constructicons drink “oil”, and get tipsy on “oil”, and slip roofies into fembots’ “oil”. Look, it’s clearly a weird way to introduce alcohol culture to children. It’s hard to say if it’s offensive, because it’s not really pulled off in an offensive or even clever manner. What I do enjoy, is the Joe Pecsi bot, which singlehandedly justifies their existence. And since we have yet to see toys of the Constructicons, it’s clear that they’re waiting to introduce more of their ilk to give us a Devastator toy.
A Devastator who suffers from liver failure.

Not so fun fact: the Constructicons have had more edits than Cher’s face; their color schemes are all over the board. I ended up using one of the very last scenes with Mixmaster and assumed that was his official colors…although I really do miss the yellow eyes he had in previous scenes.

Arcee: I’m earnestly surprised the show hasn’t used Arcee in many episodes, seeing as Susan Blu, the original voice of G1 Arcee, is the voice director for the show. It’s sad to learn that ‘Animated’ will end at season three, hopefully it’s due to the economy and will pick back up once Obama uses his money gun to shoot Hasbro execs in the face with a wad of Benjamins. But I think it would have been interesting (or will be interesting) to see the show expand on Arcee, maybe showing her having to relearn her entire life, or maybe being a helplessly broken robot after getting her processor fried.

It wasn’t planned out, but Arcee’s card looks like it is a direct response to Mixmaster’s. Incidental genius, mofos!

Ratchet: Oh, GrandpaTron. There are two interpretations to this card. Either he’s referencing his robojunk, or it could be an actually sweet reference to the gal pal he’s dating.
…Yes, I meant it as his robojunk.
